Autumn Warmth

We love this time of year at Simply Rustic Soap! And this Fall is even better as we've added soy candles. They are the perfect compliment to our bar soap and come in three sizes - 4oz, 8oz, and 16oz, all made in quaint mason jars.

Our fall and winter collection has expanded as well. We had a handful of classics last year, like Orange Clove, Pumpkin Spice and Jack Frost (a blend of vanilla and peppermint). This year we added Vanilla Fig, Sugar Plum and Balsam Pine to the lineup, and also have the returning favorites, Apple Cinnamon and Very Merry Cranberry. 

We've continued to refine our look, and the soap bars are now packaged in simple brown boxes (complete with an easy smelling window). The candles match with the Kraft brown labels and rustic twine bow.

Sometimes it's the small things

We recently came across an article posted by NPR, and it resonated with us and our vision here at Simply Rustic Soap. As more people become aware of how their daily choices impact the earth and our future resources, we hope the knowledge sparks action. The action can come in many forms: 

Choosing to compost and recycle instead of simply throwing everything away 

Using glass containers for lunches, snacks and leftovers, instead of plastic zip lock bags 

Purchasing a BPA-free or stainless steel water bottle instead of buying single use plastic water bottles

Turning that misprinted document into scratch paper 

Using cloth grocery bags and mesh cinch bags for fruits and veggies when going to the market 

All of our choices make a difference. 

After reading this article, we were glad to know that our handmade exfoliating soap will not be adding to the growing issue of plastics getting into the ecosystem. Simply Rustic Soap uses things like spices, dried lavender petals, ground oatmeal and coffee grinds, along with tea and dried herbs to exfoliate the skin. We hope you choose Simply Rustic Soap, but even if you don't, please remember that your choices make an impact. Sometimes it's the small things that make all the difference in the stewardship of our resources.

Oatmeal Stout just in time for St. Patrick's Day!

A showering of favors!

We had a busy week! Not only one, but two favor orders to complete and both were for baby showers! We absolutely love doing this side of the business. It is a chance for both the client and us to open the creative avenue and design a fun and unique product.

 

Both showers were for baby girls, so there was a lot of pink involved. The first one was a storybook theme so we used a little carriage for the image, and the host was able to thank guests for coming and showering the baby and mom with love and gifts.

The other client wanted little gift packs comprised of a favor sized soap and a matching candle. They were planning a number of games and used these as prizes! The imagery used corresponded with the invitation, so it helped carry the theme over to the actual shower.

It's that time of year when good news is spreading all around! Recent engagements and baby announcements will fill your newsfeed for a while, both during and after the holidays. It really is a joyous time!

 

In the spirit of such, we wanted to take a few minutes and share our newest venture here at Simply Rustic Soap. The vision for this business really started because of a wedding. It has grown and evolved over time, but the heart of it is celebrations! Celebrations of life, of love and of all the special events in between. It could be a 50th birthday party, a baby shower, company anniversary, or the proclamation of love between two people. Whatever the occasion may be, Simply Rustic Soap can help make it special and unique just for you.

First favors ever made by Simply Rustic Soap

We will work with you to create a one-of-a-kind product. With hundreds of scents to choose from, you can stick with one across the board, or mix and match. The same goes for the labels. We can work with you to create a label with a special phrase, logo, or image and incorporate the colors you'd like. Aside from the color of the soap (we don't add artificial colors), there isn't much we can't customize!

Since these are handcrafted specifically for you, the soap must be made to order and we need about eight weeks from the day you order to the day it is shipped. More time would be appreciated, but we understand life doesn't always allow for that and we will do our best to meet your needs in the time frame you have.

 

Favor size soaps are about 2.5oz and are priced at $3.00 a bar. Quantity discounts apply on orders over 100 (discounts range from $0.25 to $.50 a bar as quantities increase). All soap comes stamped with Simply Rustic Soap.

Baby shower favors

 

Back in the early planning stages of Simply Rustic Soap, we looked for ways to set ourselves apart and give our soap a little something extra. Owosso Graphic Arts helped make this possible! We got not one, but two soap imprints! One takes up the whole soap:

The neat thing about Owosso, is that they feature a different client once a week, and we submitted our story and a picture of the stamp in action and we are featured on their site this week! The link can be found here.
